Various Artists - The Christmas Album

Greatest Christmas album ever!
Ever!

Various Artists - The Christmas Album

So I couldn't really decide when I wanted to post this but I figure now is a good time. This is the best Christmas album ever. Anyone who disagrees doesn't know shit about music.

What we have here is a collection of some fantastic bands covering several Christmas songs. Sounds normal, untill you realize who those bands are.

Hows Merzbow covering Silent Night sound? Or Melt-Banana covering White Christmas? Your answer damn well better be "Awesome!"

Also for you Merzbow haters, it is actually a very nice cover, and has a very strong psych vibe to it, along with the lyrics sung in Japanese.

Admittedly also the S.O.B. track is after their grind period, when they became electronic, but hell, it's still S.O.B.

Tracklist

1 Melt-Banana - White Christmas

2 Secret Chiefs 3 - I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus

3 Seagull Screaming Kiss Her Kiss Her - Here Comes Santa Claus

4 Gastr Del Sol - The Bells Of St. Mary

5 Hair Stylistics - Sleigh Ride

6 SxOxB* - Parade Of The Wooden Soldiers

7 God Is My Co-Pilot - Marshmallow World

8 Merzbow - Silent Night

Amor Loreena - Las Viejas Costumbres

And now for something completely different...

Amor Loreena - Las Viejas Costumbres

I've been meaning to post this for weeks now but due to NbBMN was unable to. This is Amor Loreena, and chances are, this is the only place you will find this, unless others were as lucky as I was and happened to be there as well.

Long story made short, the lead guitarist of this group was asking for thoughts on her bands recently recorded album on a particularly popular image board. As things tend to go, she was driven off due to trolling. Much to mine and many others dismay, she had already left before we could offer our praise.

And so I am posting this here. This is some beautiful flamenco style guitar with kind of new agey elements I suppose you could say. Very beautiful music and very good guitar playing.

Give this a listen, and if you do like it, please pass it on. I'd someday like to google this band and actually find something. As is, there is no website, no myspace, absolutely nothing.

Highlight tracks would be Piloto Azteca and Sin Titulo 1 but hell, they are all pretty damn good.
