Françoise Hardy - Tous les garçons et les filles

Yé-yé!

Françoise Hardy - Tous les garçons et les filles

This is Tous les garçons et les filles, Françoise Hardy's debut album from 1962.

This is pretty much a must-listen album, if not for being one of the original yé-yé albums, but musically it is an excellent piece of 60s pop music.

Zouzou - L'intégrale

Yé-yé!

Zouzou - L'intégrale

This whole "wait until an hour before midnight before posting" thing seems to be working...

Anyway, I love yé-yé! What is yé-yé? In simple terms, it is 60s French pop with female vocals. This is Zouzou, originally a French model who also did some singing.

This is a fantastic album and should really appeal to quite a large amount of you all. If you enjoy 60s pop, or even 60s rock, as quite a few tracks have an almost Rolling Stones vibe to them, then you should love this. Hell, I certainly love this. In fact, I'd say this my favorite yé-yé album.

Lots of tracks so no tracklist for you.

Boris - New Album

J-Pop? In my Boris?

Boris - New Album

I assume most of you have heard this already so I'm mainly putting this up for a friend.

In short, Boris released a new album. Sounds kind of like a J-Pop, J-Rock, and electronic mish mash. Really catchy. Some fans hated it, I think it is great. Decide for yourself.

MAA - Monkey Kingdom

Ballerina Brain System

MAA - Monkey Kingdom

So it's no secret I've been gone for a few months so here is my most current addiction.

Earlier this month I listened to Allkore Riot Kontrol 03 and during DJ Amaya's set I was introduced to the song Beautiful Mistakes by MAA. Long story short, I got a hold of her album and I fucking love it. I've listened to this a shit ton of times. It's catchy, varied and just fucking great.

EDIT: Oh yea, the video for Ballerina Brain System is adorable also.

Give this shit a listen if you like J-pop, electro, or house.

Lifelover - Pulver

Mitt Öppna Öga

Lifelover - Pulver

Nice cover eh? This is Lifelover, a rather interesting black metal band. What makes them interesting though, is that they have a very... poppy sound to them. By that I mean, this is some really catchy hooky stuff. But it isn't in a bad way. Far from it.. This is just some nice catchy black metal.

Not much more to say, so give it a listen.

1. Nackskott

2. M/S Salmonella

3. Mitt Öppna Öga

4. Kärlek - Becksvart Melankoli

5. Vardagsnytt

6. Avbrott Sex

7. Stockholm

8. Söndag

9. Herrens Hand

10. Medicinmannen

11. Nästa Gryning

12. En Sång Om Dig

Rather annoyingly the album was just a smidgen too big for mediafire, so as usual it is in 2 parts since I hate anything not mediafire, and I know most you do too.

Kanon Wakeshima - Shinshoku Dolce

It's a cello!

Kanon Wakeshima - Shinshoku Dolce

This is by far the most unusual thing I'd say I have posted yet so far on this blog. Though really it isn't so much unusual, as vastly different from anything else posted.

What we have here is the first album by Kanon Wakeshima, a Japanese cellist. Musically we have here pop with a strong gothic influence, oh ya, there is a cello too. Frankly I really enjoy this album and have listened to it several times already. I greatly enjoyed her previous two singles as well so this was pretty much a no brainer for me. Anyway, shits good, give it a shot. Oh ya, the album was produced by Mana of Malice Mizer and Moi dix Mois. Now go download it.

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - The Pains of Being Pure at Heart

This Love is Fucking Right!

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart - The Pains of Being Pure at Heart

I recall seeing this album cover pop up all over the place and finally decided to give it a listen tonight. This is actually really really nice music. What we have here is some noisey pop music, with the noise of course being provided by the shoegaze guitars.

Really, I don't have much to say about this. It honestly isn't anything particularly ground breaking, it is simply some really enjoyable music for you shoegaze fans. Recomended to shoegaze fans and, honestly, everyone, it is pretty easy to listen to and even connect with.

Tracklisting:

1 Contender (2:36)
2 Come Saturday (3:30)
3 Young Adult Friction (4:03)
4 This Love Is Fucking Right! (3:00)
